Prior approval is required for exam retakes. You must call the Community Lifelong Learning office at (209) 575-6063 in advance to register for the exam. Seating is limited, and walk-in registrations cannot be accommodated. Please arrive early. In accordance with state regulations, no one will be admitted to the classroom after 4 PM.
To attend the course and take the official notary exam, please bring the following items: the Secretary of State Notary Exam Application (provided in class); valid identification, such as a state-issued driver’s license or identification card, a Canadian or Mexican driver’s license, a U.S. passport or a passport issued by a foreign government, or a U.S. military identification card; a $20 check or money order, along with the letter indicating that you did not pass, or a $40 check or money order for the exam fee, payable to the Secretary of State; one 2” x 2” color passport photo; the Proof of Completion (issued after the class); and two No. 2 pencils.
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age. Live Scan fingerprinting is required to become a notary. Certain criminal convictions may disqualify applicants. Registration and exam fees are non-refundable. This course is subject to cancellation due to low enrollment.
