Register in advance to ensure class information from Notary Public Seminars is emailed to you before the class begins. Seating is limited. Walk-ins will not be accepted. Arrive early. Due to State regulations, no one will be admitted to the classroom after 8:15 AM. You must return from breaks on time. You must come prepared with the following items required to take the class and exam: 1) Secretary of State Notary Exam Application (provided in class); 2) Proper ID, which may be one of the following: State-Issued Driver’s License or ID Card, Canadian or Mexican Driver’s License, U.S. Passport or a passport issued by a foreign government or U.S. Military ID Card; 3) $35 check or money order for materials fee made payable to Notary Public Seminars; 4) $40 check or money order for exam made payable to Secretary of State; 5) 2” x 2” color passport photo; 6) Proof of Completion (issued after class); and 7) Two #2 pencils.
The materials fee covers the Seminar Guidebook, SOS handbook, Proof of Completion, notary application and access to the instructor’s site with additional educational materials to utilize. Once registered contact Community Lifelong Learning to inquire about creating a Notary Public Seminars account in order to access optional study materials. The Proof of Completion is valid for two years for first time notaries. Must be at least 18 years of age. LiveScan fingerprints are required to become a notary. Serious convictions may disqualify applicants. Must call Community Lifelong Learning at (209) 575-6063 to inquire about exam retake. Must have prior approval for exam retake. Exam fees are non-refundable. After becoming a Notary, train to become a Loan Signing Agent and make $75 to $200 per signing. You’ll be a part of a rewarding and lasting career. Class is subject to cancellation due to low enrollment.
