Our popular musical theater camp is back again this year and for the first time MJC Summer Camp for Kids is proud to present Peter Pan Jr. The movie has captivated the imagination of audiences around the world. Based on J.M. Barrie's classic tale Peter and his mischievous fairy sidekick, Tinkerbell, visit the nursery of the Darling children late one night and with a sprinkle of pixie dust, begin a magical journey across the stars that none of them will ever forget. In the adventure of a lifetime, the travelers come face to face with a ticking crocodile, the fierce Brave Girls, a band of bungling pirates and, of course, the villainous Captain Hook. Each year parents and audience members are amazed by the quality of the 60-minute show, and how much their children learn in just three weeks. The camp will be held on West Campus where rehearsals will take place and our evening performance will be held on MJC East Campus in the Performing Media and Arts Center. Kids will enjoy learning elements of theater including production, acting, singing, choreography, costumes, and make-up. Through themes in our production and the learning experience in this camp, students gain important life skills; confidence, public speaking, teamwork, diversity, and overcoming obstacles. This three week camp is the best value this summer. Enrollment is limited, so don’t miss out on this fun kid-friendly experience.
