Our popular musical theater camp is back this year with Junie B. Jones The Musical JR, and is even better than ever! Each year parents and audience members are amazed with the quality of the 60-minute show, and how much their children learn in just 3-weeks. The shows have been so successful each summer we have outgrown our Mary Stuart Rogers stage and seating space for the show! Camp will still be held on West Campus, except Wednesday, June 24 we will hold camp and rehearsals and Thursday, June 25 rehearsals and our evening performance on MJC East Campus in the Performing Media and Arts Center. Friday we will have an exciting wrap party back on West Campus.

The participants are going to fall in love with their characters and the fun-filled songs - just as the books captivated an entire generation of students. They will laugh themselves silly in this hilarious Broadway Junior adaptation of Barbara Park's beloved series. Junie B. on her first day of first grade, where many changes are in store: Junie's best friend Lucille has found new best friends - and Junie makes friends with Herb, the new kid at school. While in Mr. Scary's class, Junie has trouble reading the blackboard - and she may need glasses. Add in a friendly cafeteria lady, an intense kickball tournament and a "Top Secret Personal Beeswax Journal", and first grade has never been more exciting!

Kids will enjoy learning elements of theater including production, acting, singing, set design, costumes and make-up. You will be amazed at how much kids can learn and quality of their performance in 3-weeks is impressive! Through themes in our production and the learning experience in this camp, students gain confidence, public speaking skills, teamwork, diversity, and overcoming obstacles. Participants will have fun as they learn the themes of acceptance, teamwork, diversity and overcoming obstacles. This 3-week camp is the best value this summer. Enrollment is limited, so don’t miss out on the fun kid-friendly environment and gain skills that help in everyday life.
