There’s nothing like London during the holiday season. After an overnight flight, arrive on Day two in London, England. This evening, join your fellow travelers for a special welcome dinner. Day three join a local expert on a panoramic city tour. See Trafalgar Square, St. Paul’s Cathedral, the Tower of London, and Buckingham Palace. At Westminster, see the Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey and Big Ben. A Christmastime visit to London wouldn’t be complete without a stop at Harrods, the city’s most iconic department store. Find yourself exploring a wonderland of glorious holiday displays and its incredible food hall. This afternoon, you may choose an optional excursion to Windsor Castle, home to Britain’s Kings and Queens for nine centuries. Make your way through the impressive State Apartments, adorned for the season with an array of festive decorations. Day four travel to the historic city of Oxford, home to the prestigious University of Oxford. Enjoy a leisurely walking tour followed by leisure time to explore the quaint shops filled with handmade crafts and local treats. The festivities continue with a visit to Blenheim Palace, one of England’s most magnificent homes, that shines even brighter at Christmas. The birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill, this UNESCO World Heritage site will give you a glimpse into the life of English royalty. Day five set off to explore London’s charming Christmas markets. Peruse the sea of wooden chalets offering a plethora of unique crafts, artisan goods and local treats. Continue on to Covent Garden to enjoy a traditional English tea, complete with delicious finger sandwiches and homemade pastries. This afternoon, take in one of London’s finest theatre performances. Afterward, continue on to Bond and Oxford streets, known worldwide for their elegant department stores, posh galleries and some of the most stunning Christmas decorations in the city. Day six hop on London’s famous Underground, known to locals as “the Tube.” Opened in 1863, this engineering marvel was the world’s first metro system. Travel to Westminster Abbey for a guided tour of the towering Gothic church that has been home to royal coronations and weddings. Tonight, enjoy a farewell dinner inspired by the Christmas season and toast the end of a wonderful tour. Day seven the tour ends and you head home with many pleasant holiday memories.
