Beginning Upholstery and Beyond

ClassGraphic This course teaches the fundamentals of upholstery, including fabric layout for cutting, proper use of power sewing equipment, and application of hand tools for basic furniture and automobile projects. You will learn the basic seams, stitches, and techniques needed to complete a home project with a professional finish. In this class, you will discover how to create a niche in a craft that could lead to side jobs and additional income. Continuing students with more advanced projects are welcome to join with instructor approval.

Notice

Please read:  Advance registration is required. The instructor will discuss projects during the first class; bring pictures of proposed projects for review. There is a material fee of $25, which covers thread, chalk, staples, razor blades, foam, cotton, poly Dacron, bobbins, remnant fabrics, welt cords, glue, button molds, and related supplies for learning projects. Students will need to purchase special fabrics or materials for their projects. Cutting shears, staple guns, staple pullers, and all other necessary hand tools needed for upholstery will be available for in-class use only. The class is subject to cancellation due to low enrollment.
